Riverside Vision advocates the gradual development of the pool site according to a master plan that will deliver substantial long term benefits to Twickenham residents and visitors. This plan should be a part of a larger town plan incorporating other significant developments such as the Post Office site and station. Riverside Vision is based around two core ideas – firstly resolve the parking challenge by creating an undercover car park and secondly change the road layout to take cars away from the Riverside. The drawing below shows the location of the single level undercover car park, and the revised road layout.
Moving the cars and road creates a site that can comfortably accommodate a large town square directly connected to the river and surrounded by a number of community facilities such as a swimming pool.
